What exactly happened?
While on a jog with my mom at the dog park near our house, I tripped in a hole (clumsy pitty move) & came out limping. After a trip to the vet & some tests and X-rays, the vet says I ruptured my Cruciate Ligament in my back right knee. This is the equivalent to a human ripping their ACL, meaning the only way to fix it is through surgery. I cannot put any weight on my back leg at the moment and I'm in a fair amount of pain although I'm pushing through it like a champion!
My mom managed to work out a deal with a surgeon who will perform the surgery I need for $3,400 which is a huge discount and is applying for some low-income scholarships to try to help cover some of the costs to get my leg all fixed up. The vet says we have up to four weeks to raise funds for the surgery, but my family is super sad that I am in pain & are hoping to raise the funds we need ASAP.
